Autumn in Switzerland…
Oct
Hello again… We had a great week away in the Swiss mountains, went for long walks and really just chilled, definately something hubby and I needed to do. You can see the autumn colours in the photos but we also had snow (though the ones I have taken were mainly made by the snow canons as they pile up the snow ready for the coming skiing season).
We had a few snow ball fights and I got a bit wet, but some children were actually sledging, such fun to watch…

But I thought I would just show you a few photos; I am hoping to get some inspiration from the gorgeous colours that we saw, the autumn colours on the trees up the mountains was spectacular.
Right, must get a wiggle on and get some stamping done; bags unpacked, four loads of washing blowing out on the line, and three birthday cards to make for the weekend!
Been away…
Oct
Morning – Mike and I had a wonderful week away in Switzerland for the school holidays, something we both really needed. We just relaxed in the gorgeous weather, so much sunshine up in the Alps even though it was cool some days; lots of long walks up the mountains and through the forests and picnics by the snow line. We just chilled out – just what the doctor actually ordered for me!!
So hope to be back soon with some projects as I feel much more inspired – still on Swiss time, up early…
Wreath
Oct
Well, this is the photo of the wreath! My hubby is a star and fixed yet another problem with this computer – boy am I a technophobe! The photo colour isn’t great, must get that changed, something I can do! Bye for now…
Weekend away…
Oct
Just a quick post to say that we had a wonderful weekend away with the girls at Tincleton again – so many laughs, gut busting ones too! too much food and great company, the best way I know how to relax!
I would like to thank Jo, Ellen, Fleur, Brenda, Chris, Ali, Julie and Katherine (our newbies!) and Anna for coming out to spend a little time with us Saturday night, for being such good friends xx
I must admit I didn’t do too much at all but loved the wreath that some of us made using the new Stampin’ Up Christmas papers and the newsheet papers – they turned out so well and as Jo said, much quicker to do with a cold glue gun!
After a long time, can’t put a picture up. My computer crashed last week and while away my hubby got most of it back up and running. But I have lost my photoshop and don’t seem to be able to upload anything! Grrrrr…
Quarterly Training…
Oct
Morning
Just a quick photo this morning to show you some of the swaps I received at Jo Dumbleton’s quarterly training last Sunday. We had a great day, soo many projects to do, three in the morning and one large project in the afternoon which was fab (using what is going to be a fave of mine, Everything Eleanor) and shown now on Jo’s blog. We also had a great lunch and afternoon cakes! plus a Spin the Wheel and great raffle, and a Competition for the ladies to show their talents making a Christmas project or card that was judge by us all, won by Kath, yeah.
Jo has quite a few new Angels on her team and it was great to be with them and spend time doing something we all love, sharing knowledge and ideas for Stampin’ Up. So this is a photo of the swaps the girls made – aren’t they fabulous!
Ok, bye for now as I have to get ready for our girlie weekend away card making and scrapbooking. We did this last year at Tincleton and had such a fantastic time with our wonderful group of friends. We had great weather too so we are keeping our fingers crossed for warm sun, lots of great food!! and great laughs!!! Wish my sister Helen was there too xx but we will be thinking of you Helen out there in New Zealand…
Posy Punch
Oct
Morning
One of the new sets I ordered with pre order from Stampin’Up was Posy Punch which I think will prove quite versatile. I like making small cards and this is perfect for it. I used Concord Crush for the background and stamped the flowers in the new colours Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limaeade, together with a few Delicate Doilies on two of the cards. A few rhinestones, pearls and a white marker pen, eh voila…
Hope you like them, lots to do, take care out there…
Delicate Doilies
Oct
Morning
I must admit I am very taken with this set of stamps, very versatile for backgrounds which is always very useful when you don’t have the right papers. And the In Colours all coordinate with each other so beautifully too…
I cut out an oval onto acetate and then soft brushed and stamped through it to get the shape I wanted, stamping and cutting out the other doilies and used the lovely brads for the centres. The colours are Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo.
Lots more to do today so will get a wiggle on, take care as always…
New SU Catalogue
Oct
Morning
What a glorious weekend we had, though I hardly saw outside. I had a party here for my Mum’s 80th and should have gone to M & S for the food instead; I baked and cooked all Saturday and Sunday trying to keep everything cool in 28 degrees heat and, as usual for me, made far too much. Everyone went home with goodie bags!
Anyway, back to crafting… 1st October means the new Stampin’ Up catalogue is out and there are five new colours to add to the collection, all really lovely colours, as well as new stamps, papers and so much more.
Apart from buying the new In Colours I got the Delicate Doilies set which I love. I have repeat stamped using Coral Calypso, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder for the bottom two and Lucky Limeade for the top one – that will be a firm favourite for me!
I loved the first set of In Colours last year so this will be no exception for me – I am sure you will see plenty more of this set over the next week or so before I get my first big order by the weekend!
Take care as always…
