Last Xmas cards…
Dec
I made some of these designs for friends and family, just a little bit different with two slits in the front of the card and using the Elegantly Eleanor from SU to hold the card together. Using the SU xmas papers, Real Red and Wild Wasabi as the main colours, I decoupaged the fir cones from Pines and Pointsettias and used Crystal effects to make them pop!
I also made one for my sister that I liked too which is quite similar but without the front cuts… I rolled some First Edition paper to make flowers too and added pearls to give some detail.
So I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and all the best for a great healthy and wealthy New Year. 2012 has got to be better than 2011 in my household!! Fingers crossed…
We are moving house so this will probably be my last post for quite a while now as we are having to put most of our stuff into storage for a month before the move is finalised so by for now and take care everyone…
Xmas cards
Dec
Well, I only have a few more Christmas cards to show you, then that is it – promise! I used quite a few punches, the Owl, Ornament, small circles and Lace Ribbon border punches, Real Red and Always Artichoke card and inks, First Edition papers, and Tags til Christmas stamp set; a few pearls and a bit of smudging around the edges to finish it off…
Just for You
Dec
Good Morning – boy I wish I felt Christmassy – I have made loads of cards for friends and family but even putting up decs in the dining room yesterday didn’t fill me with ‘the feeling’ – maybe when I take Mum out shopping later it will do…
I made this card for my friends birthday, hope she likes it. It was using all Stampin’ Up products -Very vanilla for the card and the flowers, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz and Sahara Sand. The stamping is done with the French Foliage set and now can’t remember the sentimetn one, arrgh, my memory. I just love the wide ribbon and wish they did it in every colour way, and gold brad for the centre of the flower and an edge punch to give a bit more detail. It was nice to do a birthday card after doing endless Christmas things… bye for now!
Polar Party
Nov
What a horrid day weather wise, rain and gale force winds, blah! So more time for crafting, yeah! and since I am well behind on my Christmas cards this year I thought I would do quite a few using the new (to me) Polar Party – I love these penguins and trees from SU and have used Wild Wasabi and Cherry Cobbler for my main colours…
The seam binding is Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz though, and I cut out the penguins and put them on dimensionals to make them stand out a bit, a bit of glitter on the stars and snow (which doesn’t show up on the photo – been having problems with a bit of blurring every since my computer crashed, the photos aren’t anywhere near as sharp as they used to be! with having to use a new way for upload my photos). I used the blender pens from SU to paint the colours in for the trees and penguins to make it a bit softer and the dotty embossing foler for texture to the cards.
Only another 20 to do and I will have finished my Xmas cards, yeah!
Merry Christmas
Nov
Good morning and the sun is shining, yeah! Been dull and miserable here for days… I am trying to make some cards double quick at the moment, something I can repeat easily but just not happening. With moving before xmas (we hope but does not seem so likely at the moment!) I am trying to get organized with cards etc but this design took me longer to put together than I thought it would.
The wreath is the small scallop punch with the one inch punch for the centre, using the holly stamp from one of the new SU sets Pines and Pointsettas and the newsprint papers, the ‘merry’ is from the pennant parade set I think, just two colours, Real Red and Old Olive, a bit of silver elastic (retired now) eh voila! I obviously need to get more organised to do them and my photos of late seem a bit blurred, sorry. OK must get a wiggle on…
Pennant Parade
Nov
Good morning
Manic at my house with packing boxes to move and my craft room is half packed already, you wouldn’t want to see it, but then I am used to working in a mess!! We haven’t got a date as a few things have become complicated (!) but still looking to move before Christmas…
So this is just a quickie and I was very inspired by Stamp with Heather – she has made some lovely things – and I haven’t much time to really think about designing and blog hopping takes so much time away from what I really want to do which is stamp. I love the Pennant Parade set and have used Real Red, Olive Green a a few of the neutrals for the versus etc, done a bit of decoupage, used sheer ribbon and the new SU Christmas papers and my fave Top Note die and think they have turned out OK, many thanks again to Heather. The Tags Til Christmas set makes great tags of course and good to use as embellisments on your cards too.
Ok, I have to go pack more boxes, wish I wasn’t such a hoarder as this makes this job so much harder – stupid really to get so attached to ‘things’ and one day, I will learn my lesson.
Penguins
Nov
Good Afternoon
And I am trying to sort out some cards for Christmas and playing about with my new stamp set Polar Party from Stampin’ Up – so cute, just love the images and especially these penguins. I have used Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Poppy Parade for the colours, snowflakes also from Serene Snowflakes, quite a few rhinestones and some Pool Party ruffled ribbon – might even use them for my card class next week…
Cloudy and dull out there so the light is not good in here today, looks like it is going to be like that all week – take care out there.
French Foliage
Nov
Good afternoon
Such a nice bright day today after a busy week at work. I managed to get a few jobs done in the garden this morning and sat here in my craft room in the lovely sunshine.
After our trip to Switzerland the other week and walking in the forests and mountains, I wanted to make some cards with the autumnal colours in mind, and this is what I have come up with…
I have used Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Early Espresso for the colour and ribbon, using the French Foliage stamp set and a few other sentiments.
Right, must get on a tidy my desk up! Take care everyone…
Quarterly Training…
Oct
Morning
Just a quick photo this morning to show you some of the swaps I received at Jo Dumbleton’s quarterly training last Sunday. We had a great day, soo many projects to do, three in the morning and one large project in the afternoon which was fab (using what is going to be a fave of mine, Everything Eleanor) and shown now on Jo’s blog. We also had a great lunch and afternoon cakes! plus a Spin the Wheel and great raffle, and a Competition for the ladies to show their talents making a Christmas project or card that was judge by us all, won by Kath, yeah.
Jo has quite a few new Angels on her team and it was great to be with them and spend time doing something we all love, sharing knowledge and ideas for Stampin’ Up. So this is a photo of the swaps the girls made – aren’t they fabulous!
Ok, bye for now as I have to get ready for our girlie weekend away card making and scrapbooking. We did this last year at Tincleton and had such a fantastic time with our wonderful group of friends. We had great weather too so we are keeping our fingers crossed for warm sun, lots of great food!! and great laughs!!! Wish my sister Helen was there too xx but we will be thinking of you Helen out there in New Zealand…
Posy Punch
Oct
Morning
One of the new sets I ordered with pre order from Stampin’Up was Posy Punch which I think will prove quite versatile. I like making small cards and this is perfect for it. I used Concord Crush for the background and stamped the flowers in the new colours Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limaeade, together with a few Delicate Doilies on two of the cards. A few rhinestones, pearls and a white marker pen, eh voila…
Hope you like them, lots to do, take care out there…
