More Centre Step cards
Sep
Good afternoon
Well, here are a few more Centre Step cards I have made using the DSP Sweet Stitches which is retiring …
I used Daffodil Delight for both cards and the stamp set Sew Lovely, adding a few embosslits buttons, Chocolate Chip ribbon and some twine. I promise I won’t keep on with these cards, but I have the 6×6 Album to show yet, probably tomorrow…
Oh, the sun is shining, I am going outside to do some gardening – take care…
Centre Step card
Sep
Morning
Looks like it is set for a very warm week here, unseasonably so – our trees have already turned and loosing their leaves, they will be budding again instead!
It took me a long time to order this set of DSP from Stampin’ Up but when I saw what other crafters were doing with them, I loved it. We made a superb 6×6 album with them at Jo Dumbleton’s last Scrap Club and I have filled it with photos of the grandchildren for my Mum’s 80th birthday this week – hope you like it Mum and made a few more cards with the papers left over from the stash.
Even though the papers are going from the new catalogue, the stamps aren’t. I do like playing about with card templates and like this centre step design. I used Pacific Point – again one of the colours I haven’t used very much as I am more a Subtles and Neutrals girl and this is in the Brights section – if you have off cuts of paper too you can get rid of them easily with this design…
Ok, more to finish to take care everyone…
Baby Blossoms
Sep
Good Afternoon
Cold and breezy here today so a perfect chance to make cards! I can’t believe some things are retiring from Stampin’ Up and some things that I can’t believe are staying! This is one of the stamp sets that I have loved from the start when the mini catalogue came out and amazed not to find it in the new catalogue coming out on 1st October…
Using Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait (those colours are staying for another year) I made a birthday card for a friend also adding the Tiny Tags (staying, thank goodness) stamp set,tag punch and oval punch too, and the matching colour ribbons. She likes simple cards so hope she likes this too…
Think I will go and put some socks on or even my slippers! Take care as always…
More Baby Shower cards…
Sep
Morning
At least it is not so windy here today, and I know it has been dreadful in some places all over Britain…
More Baby Shower cards I made last night, quick and simple ones using the retiring Nursery Suite papers from SU.
I have never made so many baby cards! As I have a limited amount of stamps from SU in this genre anyway I have kept to a simple theme and only made 12 out of 20 so far!
This is using Pretty in Pink, So Saffron and Whisper White, gold elastic thread and a few gold brads,
Then Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Whisper White with lovely white satin ribbon, Broadsheet Alphabet, Slice of Life and circle punches…
Then Pretty in Pink and Whisper White with Nursery Suite DSP with Queue Up stamps and a large subtles button…
As I said, all simple as I have to make so many, just hope they like them! Busy busy busy so must get a wiggle on, bye for now.
Baby Shower
Sep
Afternoon
Well, I have to get a wiggle on to make some things for a double pink Baby Shower I am going to in a few weeks time. They already know they are having girls and some of the other attendees have asked me to do some cards and tags for the presents…
So these are some of the things I have started with – tags made with the Top Note from SU and the Baby Tees roller, the card with the Nursery Suite papers and a few embossing dies, so hope the girls will like them.
Lots to do so bye for now…
Seeing Red
Aug
Sorry that I haven’t been posting this week, I am having real problems with my computer on my admin post after letting this silly machine update – it has installed laods of things now that I don’t want and can’t get it back to my old setup. I like things to stay the same, hate change, so this is very annoying…
Now that rant is over, we are also house hunting after accepting an offer on our house. It has been for sale on and off for the last few years, so yeah! we have sold but do you think we can find anything we want?? No, the law of sod has reared it’s ugly head and as we are seriously downsizing, can’t find anything we both agree on and that never happens to me and my hubby. We have found a compromise and have now had our offer rejected so it is a watch this space, and I am very stressed…
Again not like me at all. Also have been prepping for my first Card Class in many years and lost my mojo as a result of this stress so thought I would put something simple on here so you wouldn’t think I had gone forever! I have liked the Centre Step template design for ages so thought I would make it, simple and just one colour (apart from SU Whisper White) it was all in reds…
So I used the Big Shot flower dies with Real Red card which I then embossed with the Square Lattice design. I used the DSP from the In Colours and the lovely Rhinestones and yeah, butterfly free for a change!!
You might see it better from this angle…
Ok, looks like we have some sunshine after all these heavy showers – the grass is loving it and the first time in many years it is not scorched and brown so have some tidying up to do out there. Have a great Bank Holiday weekend!
Bluebirds
Aug
I saw these blue birds on SU’s Kristine McNickle site and loved them, so thought I would do my own version. My sister Helen is living in New Zealand and is always talking about the bluebirds in her garden, mainly about the racket they make! so thought I would do one for her lol x Kristine has a lovely blog if you want to visit her site, such a talented lady.
So these are in SU’s Pacific Point, using Marina Mist, Peach Parfait, Tangerine Tango and Crumb Cake, the Itty Bitty punched flowers and Bird Punch leaves, 1in round and scallop circle punches – I do love using SU’s punches. I have made more with Bashful Blue and a few other colours too which I may post later but they were such fun even though a bit fiddly cutting out with my silly fingers at the moment.
OOh, the sun is coming out so may get a bit warmer later. I have loads of gardening tidying to do so that will be nice in the sunshine. Take care everyone…
More Lily of the Valley
Aug
Good morning
Funny old day here, sunshine and showers but don’t mind, wasn’t planning on doing much at all today after a late night at Jo’s Stamp and Stack Christmas cards event at Holt last night. We had a lovely time, made 12 cards from six great designs (Jo is such a clever lady) and lots of chatting!
So this morning I just have a few cards to show from LOTV that I love, both going out to people in my family this week so I hope they like them. I do love colouring in and getting to like bright colours too. I used the same layout design for both of them as was running short of time – they are now in the post – so hope they will like them.
Let’s hope the sunshine comes back this week though it is nice not to have to water the garden and pots. Take care everyone…
Two quick cards…
Aug
Afternoon…
I had lots of scraps of card left over the other day and I know I can’t throw it away – so decided to just punch out some of it and see what I had left for cards, and this is what I did.
I used quite a few SU punches and just a few colours, and certainly quite a bit of ‘white space’ for me this is what I came up with. I had been blog hopping after no inspiration coming at all and was very taken by someones work (sorry, can’t remember who) and this is my take on it. Very simple but quite effective so may do a few more for the hospital charity cards.
Boy is it hot, could do with going down to the beach and sticking my feet in the sea! Will see if my hubby will do that when he gets back…
Just two colours
Jul
Good afternoon…
I thought I would make a card today just using two colours, Stampin’ Ups Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla – this is for a friend of mine who is half way through her chemo, very brave lady, and I am doing a card class for her very soon, just something different to keep mind off everything for a few short hours…
I will be showing her how to use the Big Shot so have embossed the Very Vanilla in the Vintage Wallpaper, Little leaves sizzlits die, embosslits beautiful wings, and used the punches for extra texture, pearls and ribbon to match. I can’t find my Blushing Bride ink pad so used the marker pen instead, hence the slight difference in the shade for the sentiment from the Just Believe stamp set.
Right, no rain but lots of cloud so going to get outside and plant lots of the flowers I got at the Garden Centre this morning – my french lavender pots by the back door have finally stopped flowering so need a bit of colour, have bought geraniums, cosmos daisies and dahlias to make a change.
Take care and have a great weekend…
