Workdesk Wednesday
Jul
Morning
Well, I decided to do What’s on your workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW) challenge today and I have got to say it’s work and not too much of a mess – wonders will never cease! If you follow www.Debby4000.blogspot.com and her fantastic cards that she makes, you will see what I mean – Debby has done this challenge for quite a while now and changed her craft room like me recently. She is a great 3D cardmaker, a must see…
I have been making little birdhouse cards using the Stampin Up punch from Jo at Stampin Up – it is such a lovely punch and my inspiration is from Jo’s Blog, another great friend and cardmaker. I am doing Thank You cards for the girls in my class at school for another lovely term in Community Group at Langside School, Poole. I used Daisy D’s papers and Core Dinations black magic card, a bit messy but never mind.
I am thinking about pressies too and Jo did a great class at our last Extravaganza called Sweet Treat Stationery Holder and a birdhouse sweet treat holder (on her blog) so will try and finish them today. (Sorry, photo is a bit blurred). Looks like I am going to be busy!
Take care…
Craft Space
Jul
OK, took a few photos of my new space (about a quarter of the space I had originally for 6 years – what a lucky girl was I!!) but now I know, nearly, where everything is and I have put aside so much stuff to get rid of too. I am a great hoarder and that is very hard for me to do but needs must.
I have quite a few shelves now in place along with my Alex drawer from Ikea (love it) and my two three drawer 12×12 drawers on the left that no scrapbooker can do without. It is still a work in progress and my workspace is very tidy for me (I work in absolute chaos!).
Things will definately move around as I go on but as long as I have my punches, pens and cardstock close to hand I am a happy bunny.
Then on the other side of my galley space I have my computer, printer, scanner etc, more shelf storage, file drawers (not sorted out yet and indeed a work in progress) and my stacker boxes for paper, card and projects. It has taken nearly a week to complete, I have at last got my computer up and running again and can get some work done!
Bye for now…
Moving!
Jul
Afternoon
Well I am moving craft rooms, exciting really to go into a new space but it is half the size of my old one and half the desk space, yikes! I have been very very lucky for years to have a big space to craft in and have decided to move into our study instead. Mike is decorating in there now and will be moving most of the stuff over tomorrow. So I have been trying to look at this logically (not me at all!) and get rid of a lot of stuff, there is so much that I have collected over the years that I now don’t use at all. It will be quite cathartic in the end but at the moment, having to get rid of so much stuff is really upsetting.
I have thrown most of my quilting and cross stitching away (my fingers are getting so bad with arthritis I don’t think I will ever be able to do that again) and I have lots…. may do a craft table or boot fayre, there certainly is enough stuff. I have encaustic art I haven’t touched in over five years but can’t get rid of my painting stuff, tried yesterday but it all came back in again! Stamps galore and paper coming out of my ears – I have made a big pile for school and for my great niece Phoebe to take for her nursery school too.
I will be certainly be thinking of what I buy in the future (ha ha ha, anyone knowing me will say that is a throw away comment!!) but must do as there will be no room.
So no posts for the next week while I get sorted. Take care…
Jo’s Calendar Card Box
Jun
What a scorcher of a weekend we have had!
And what a great day we had Saturday with Jo in Holt Village Hall making her Calendar Card Box (go to my side bar to Jo’s blog for more details and how to buy the class project) – such a great challenge for us all but with her organised class, so easy. She had cut up everything and presented it all so professionally as now we only expect from Jo!! No Pressure hey my friend!!
We had a great day using new Cottage Wall papers and SU card for the box, learnt to make our own beads from card and finished a lovely project from 10.30-4.30. We had a lovely table my friends Fleur and Anna and I and met some lovely people, aren’t crafters so so nice! Her Mum Shirley had laid on a wonderful lunch and MIL’s cakes, as much tea and coffee and treats as you could eat. Jo had done a raffle and bingo with lovely prizes, thoroughly spoilt we were. Now we can’t wait for the next one…
Well done to both of you and Thank You again for a lovely day…
Take care
LOTV again
Jun
Morning
Just a quickie post this morning.
I did this card the other day and forgot to post it, loved the bright greens, definately my colour for the season!
I just love the LOTV stamps and hope to add even more to my collection! Another simple one, coloured in with Copics and Promarkers, with a little lace doily behind as a frame, just a few flowers from Craft Obsessions and paper from STampin Up cut with my new Anna Griffin lace punch. Hope you like it.
Take care…
Back home now
Jun
Morning
Well after being away in the sun I don’t know wether it is nice or not to come back to the rain! I know the gardens need it desperately and am pleased for that.
My hubby and I drove down to Port Grimaud in the South of France for five days, gloriously hot and gorgeous beaches then we drove back up into Switzerland via Monaco and the Italian coastline (so so pretty) via nearly 100 tunnels and over vast bridges. The Italian autoroute was just lovely, fantastic scenery which I would love to have captured on photo if we had not been driving, not many view points unfortunately. Then up through the mountains between the two countries through to the Grand St. Bernard Pass, still so much snow in the mountains, to wonderful temperatures in Siviez where we were for another five days. We did lots of walking and just sitting reading books (if you know Mike just getting him to sit and read is amazing) then drove home yesterday.
I am back at work tomorrow so won’t be posting anything much ’til the weekend. Hope everyone is OK. Take care…
New Stamps
Apr
Evening
We had a wonderful day at Ally Pally on Sunday. Fleur was great driving me, Helen, Jo and Ellen there which was so relaxing for us, Jo was our navigator and we were the back seat drivers! Enough said…
We stopped and stayed at the Clarity Stamps stand first and saw Barbara Gray and her team, such fun and full of smiles after their long weekend and sharing their knowledge with such great humour. The new stamps from Lili of the Valley team were our next real stop, fantastic and gorgeous and I bought loads, so you will be seeing them on my blog very soon (have been colouring in today!). The people at The Hobby House with Bev Rochester was another long stop and the huge space for Creative Expressions and their experts was great. Well, there were so many smiling faces there and for our first time at a big show, it was a great day out – my purse didn’t think so though lol.
Time for bed nearly… take care.
More Tildas
Apr

Another lovely day of rain!
I just love these new Magnolia Stamps that I got from David at Craft Obsessions, they are so versatile.
This time I have Noble Tilda sitting on the Postbag stamp and then the Postbag on its own. Quite simple cards for me, just matting and layering but loved the colouring in, just sitting and watching an old film, excellent.
Hope you are enjoying the Easter weekend despite the weather…

Tilda Note Books
Mar

Morning.
A friend of mine is leaving work this week so I decided to make her a note book to go by the phone. It just has a Stickies pad inside.
The paper is some old stock K & Co that I have kept forever and is nice for Spring – I can’t keep hoarding papers just ‘cos I love them, they have to go!
I have used noble Tilda, so cute just sitting on a piece of card using a Martha Stewart punch and some ribbon. I coloured her in with Copics.
I liked doing it so much I made another one, might keep it for myself, again using scraps of papers I have a feeling is Basic Grey. I do enjoy colouring in!!
Hope you have a lovely day…
Jo’s Challenge
Mar
This is a challenge set by Jo for the new box set for the butterfly stamps and punch which is just lovely. I love aqau and chocolate together but sorry Jo, didn’t have any Stampin Up papers to go with it so used old stash I had instead. I will base it on some lovely papers I do have next time, promise! It was good fun and didn’t take long at all, especially on this dull afternoon. The box went together so easily and it was so nice to use my new punch and butterfly stamps. So I am sending this as my entry…
