Charity Fundraiser
Apr
Evening
Well, we had a great time today raising funds for my school, Langside School, which is a special school for children with disabilities, for our minibus fund.
Our local Haskins Garden Centre has a lovely room at the back of the Restaurant for events and we ‘set up shop’ in there with our boards and tables. Jo Dumbleton has been wonderful organising this event through Stampin’ Up and I can’t thank her enough for all the hard work she has put in to raise money for my school. Helen Clifford came along today as well and has made today a lovely day, again with all her hard work doing demos and making cards for the boards.
As you can see from our tables we have been very busy girls and also had a Make and Take table for our owl punch tissue holder…
which , as as class, went down very well and we had made another 60 to take home if you hadn’t been able to do the project, and we sold them all!
Our raffle prizes had all been donated, over half of them Stampin’ Up, first being £100 of product, 2nd £40 of product, third a £25 Haskins voucher, very nicely donated, thank you – there were 15 prizes in all.
We had a great day, everyone liked the demos done on our new Big Shot…
with Helen getting her table ready for her card demonstrations and Jo to show how she made her lovely flowers for the beautfiul hat and vase of flowers she made… stunning!
So I have to say a very big Thank You to all the people who came and made our day very special, our first big charity event – don’t know how much we raised finally but will let you know soon. And a very big hug to Jo’s Mum Shirley who sold our raffle tickets and things we had specially made, was at the door to great everyone and was a fantastic help as always.
Again Jo and Helen, thank you for helping raise such a lot of money for my school’s minibus – I know they will be very grateful for every pound donated.
I took so many photos, but think this post is long enough! Take care everyone…
Spring Plaque
Apr
Afternoon
Well, I haven’t painted for ages and have just finished a wooden plaque depicting Spring. I was taught to paint and especially folk art paint by a special lady, Sally Stone. My friends and I took lessons with her for about six years and had to finally give up due to other commitments and have been meaning to finish this project for many years. After waiting years to do this, think I will actually hang it up in my craft room.
Happy Mothers Day to all of you out there tomorrow… and take care.
Open Day
Mar
Afternoon
My apologies for the lack of posts over the last few weeks. Apart from doing samples from the new Stampin’ Up mini catalogue, Jo Dumbleton and Helen Clifford are helping me with a Craft Open Day at Haskins on 10th April to raise funds for my school, Langside School for Disabled Children. We are raising funds for a very much needed Minibus.
Jo has been wonderful and organised all this event at Haskins, through Stampin’ Up, to show people what crafts you can do with all the great stamp sets, punches and so many more things in this years catalogue. If you love card making, 3D crafts or scrapbooking, or would like to learn a new hobby, come along and see us at Haskins, Ferndown on 10th April between 10.30am and 4pm. There will be raffles, make and takes and demonstrations for you to see and all in such a great cause!!
We have worked hard to make samples for you to see, demonstrate as well as to buy and hopefully will have posts with it all on in the future.
Take care and if you have a few hours to spare on that Sunday, come along and join in the fun!
SU Training Day
Feb
Afternoon
How I love school holidays – what is wrong with the weather – again! So much rain and had planned to do so much gardening this week…
Oh well, it has given me the chance to do my swaps for the Training Day we have at Stampin’ Up in Fareham this Saturday. I have been so busy doing these that I haven’t been able to post anything for a week, though I have done a few scrapbook pages which, if I get a chance, will post.
These are some of the swaps I have done, I have done 50 of them in many different colour combos (I get bored easily doing the same thing time and time again) and think that will have to be it. I don’t think I will get round to the 60+ women that will be there anyway, and my arthritis is complaining too much in my fingers to do any more, blame that mainly on the cold and rain but I have been crafting a lot this last week – just heaven! My desk is a mess (you should see to the left and right of the photo) so will spend the next hour tidying up before I start on another 12×12.
Hope the weather improves for the weekend, some sunshine would be most welcome… take care everyone.
Happy New Year
Jan
Morning
And a Happy New Year to everyone!
We had a lovely family Christmas with lots of nice pressies then our boys and some close friends headed off to Switzerland skiing. It was a wonderful week with blue skies – yes, sunshine! – and great snow. Now we are all back at work with this dull cloud and rain, just yuk.
So I am going to cheer myself up and not having to be anywhere this weekend (that is amazing in itself) I am going to try some new techniques for cardmaking and make a start on the cards for the many birthdays coming up.
So hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will hopefully post some new offerings later in the week.
Take care…

Take care everyone…
Last of the birdhouses…
Dec
Morning
Well, we have been out in the snow for a walk to get necessities, just lovely, now sleeting – yuk!
This is the last of my birdhouses, I have made so many now in lots of different colours for our family get together on Xmas Day so hope they all like them.
They are all made from the template Jo Dumbleton’s site, clever girl she is, and done all in Stampin’ Up card using the bird punch – I have loved doing them but my fingers could do with a break…
Take care out there…
David and Brenda’s Xmas crop
Dec
AFternoon
Well, we had a lovely crop with David and Brenda at West Moors yesterday, and with it being our Christmas crop we had extra raffles, bingo and instant prizes – such fun! They make it such a great crop to go to…
It was also my sister’s last crop with them before she moves to New Zealand after the New Year – very sad and she and I did shed quite a few tears. Most of the group made a page for her to put in a scrapbook David and Brenda organised which was just lovely and I am so grateful to everyone for sharing that with Helen, she was so touched by it all…
This is Helen with David – Brenda didn’t want her photo taken! – they are such a lovely couple (www.craftobsessions.com) if you want to take a look at their site…
and with our great friends Ellen and Jo – we always have such a good time, little bit of scrapbooking with a lot of chat.
We will all miss you Helen and know you will be back in May but the crop won’t be the same without you…
Take care everyone…
Snow, Snow Snow….
Dec
Good Morning
Well, our school is closed today so am going to carry on with my cards and christmas boxes I am making, woo hoo!
I had to add just a few photos from early this morning, just looks magical out there in the garden and very quiet on the roads. May even persuade my hubby to go for a walk and take more photos!
But now time to have fun and make some cards. Hope you all have a lovely day out there safe and sound in the snow – take care…
Christmas Banner
Nov
Afternoon
Well, after a great weekend away with my sister and BIL I have been trying to catch up with a few projects I needed to finish – can’t believe that Xmas is only a few weeks away…
I wanted to make a banner for part of a decoration for my mantelpiece and this is a quickie piece I have done using mostly Stampin’ Up materials, namely the cardstock, papers and stamps. The colours are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler with Very Vanilla for stamping, then a few brads and ribbons from my stash.
Take care everyone…
