Sew Lovely Mini Album

Sep

Good Evening

And what a glorious day we have had, too hot in fact, but looks set for at least another four days – just wish I hadn’t to work!

Well, this is the mini 6×6 album we made at Jo’s Scrap Club last month.  We all did something a little different and this is the one I made for my Mum’s 80th Birthday with photos of her grand and great grandchildren – there is nothing my Mum likes more than photos!

Again they were done in all SU’s Bright colours, using emobssing, punches and stamping…

Just a few pages in this 6×6 album which my Mum really loved (opened it early knowing it was photos!!) and I really enjoyed making it, something different than just 12×12 pages – well done on that, Jo!

Ok, off to our local scrap club tonight – be careful out there, use sunscreen!

La Louvre

Good afternoon,

Well, we had a lovely crop yesterday but only managed to do two layouts in 6 hours!  Too much talking and not enough crafting you may say;  well,  our group certainly does like a good old chat and Jo, Helen, Anna and I did that yesterday.

I managed to do layout no 3 for my new album using the SU Springtime Vintage papers…

I matted the photos onto card which I had stamped using French Foliage but don’t think you can see it in the photo, but it has a Paris round stamp in the set, very apt for my photos. I hand cut a border from the striped paper with the roses, hand cut  bigger roses and added butterflies ( I use them so much).  I cut squares which I then rounded the edges on and stamped using Rose Red the alphabet stamp Broadsheet which I love too.  I made hidden journaling under the Top Note die which I embellished with the SU Manhattan Flower die and inked with River Rock, locking it down with a lovely large button.

Ok, must finish the other layout of  The Louvre – I actually love the difference between the old and new – but just wish we had had blue skies that day.  Don’t get me wrong, it was very warm under the clouds and a lot better for us than walking in the sunshine as it was tiring enough walking miles each day, but they miss that reflection I was really looking for… Oh well, will just have to have another trip!!!

Bye for now, and take care everyone…

Layout No 2

Good morning…

Weather report, cloudy again but hot and very humid, makes you feel kinda tired and lazy.  We have friends coming round so I have been baking brownies and cupcakes, they smell nice!

So, on to layout no. 2 from yesterdays crop, thought I would finish it on Saturday but TV was lousy last night so finished it then.

I am making an album of our recent trip to Paris and am using all the Stampin’ Up Springtime Vintage  papers for it – I just love all the colours and you can do so much with them. This is Jo’s  second layout using the Baja Breeze combination with Not Quite Navy and Always Artichoke – I love the flowers that we ‘rock and rolled’ to get the two tone effect with nice brads (in the kit) and pearls, more butterflies and Seam Binding ribbon.  I should have done some more ribbon roses but my fingers just won’t let me today so this is my interpretation of the layout instead.  You can get four or five layouts from this kit, so am taking more papers to the crop tomorrow.

Have a lovely afternoon and weekend…

Springtime Vintage Crop

Good afternoon

Lovely sunshine outside but I have been finishing off my layout we started at Jo Dumbleton’s crop this morning.  We had a great time creating two layouts from this months Scrapbooking Kit using Springtime Vintage DSP, together with ribbons, brads and pearls…

Such a  lovely design, thank you Jo, for this layout and I enjoyed doing the crimping and edging for the surround for the circular mat – never thought of doing that before and it turned out great.  Also we made more ribbon roses like the ones on Jo’s tutorial (www.stampin-n-stuff.blogspot.com) quite a bit of stamping and die cutting but it is just lovely.  Sorry, but my photo has turned out a bit darker than I expected – don’t know what is going wrong there! – but I expect Jo has some more kits left if anyone wants to try it.  I have the second to finish now so may finish that at our Saturday crop.

Take care and have a lovely afternoon…

Good morning

The sun is shining and thought I would get my layout finished before I went outside and did some dead heading and general tidying up in the garden…

These are all Stampin’ Up products used in the layout, and also the colours needed for this weeks ‘The Color Room’ palette 68.  I used Rose Red, Sahara Sand and  Crumb Cake for this, together with the Designer papers which I love the best from the collection, Springtime Vintage. I made the roses from Jo’s first video tutorial, woo hoo! – didn’t Jo do well (www.stampin-n-stuff.blogspot.com) – hurt my sore hands though after all that, blah – glad I can try and rest them at the moment and I glittered some larger flowers using SU punches and ‘rolled’ the inside of the flowers too.

Ok, going outside to enjoy the sunshine.  Let’s hope it lasts….

Good afternoon

My hubby treated me to a wonderful weekend away in Paris with our friends, boat cruise down the Seine, walking forever! to see all the great sights of Paris, and a wonderful evening at the Moulin Rouge with VIP tickets with Mumm champagne courtesy of our friend Steve – what a wonderful show, fantastic costumes, dancing and sets – how romantic our men were this weekend, feel very blessed and the evening made my weekend away …xxx

Anyway, we had another family surprise, our youngest son Benjamin asked his girlfriend Jessica to marry him while on holiday last week and she said ‘Yes’!! Woo Hoo – so this layout I have done is of her ring and seconds after his proposal in the Dordogne, high on a hilltop overlooking vineyards, picnic and champagne – aaaah…

So this is my layout for The Color Room challenge no 66, very colourful especially for me (though I do seem to be heading that way with my layouts recently).

Take care everyone…

Good morning

And what a lovely weekend we are having, wall to wall blue skies with a gentle breeze, perfect!  Not good for crafting though, want to be outside sunning myself but until the sun comes round to my room in about an hour, I am OK!

I did this layout for Jo at the Stampin’ n Stuff Scrapbooking Club where she has asked me to make some layouts with the Stampin’ Up kits we have every month – how cool is that!  She is a very, very busy lady as you can imagine and I am thrilled she has asked me…

So here was my first effort using the DSP Botanical Gazette papers from the mini catalogue…

There are some really lovely papers in this set but I wanted one of the darker papers for this layout- I used Chocolate Chip, Olive Green, Cherry Cobbler and So Saffron for my main colours, cut and embossed (vintage wallpaper and lattice folders) some 2×2 in papers and card from the set to create a border for the photo, used one of SU’s scallop border punches, the lovely Pear Pizzazz green sheer ribbon, and using the Big Shot flower and butterfly dies for the embellishments. I then used the alphabet soup chipboard letters from a previous kit which I inked with the same colours, added a few pearls and it was done.

Hope you like it, have a great weekend and take care out there…

Good Morning,

Very hot and humid here this morning, have done all my housework, yeah! so thought I would finish a layout I started at our crop on Saturday.

This is using one of the papers from the Nursery Suite by SU, together with Real Red, Bashful Blue, So Saffron and Blushing Bride (a colour combination from this week’s The Color Room challenge 64) with embossed flowers using the textured plates, SU punches and craft board for the title, another easy page to put together for me…

My handsome sons, make me so proud, and one of their gorgeous girlfriends… have a great day everyone!

Another Day in Paradise

Evening

We were at DAvid and Brendas Crop yesterday and they had some luverly new Bo Bunny papers, perfect for the photos I wanted to do of my sister Helen and her granddaughter Phoebe…

It was from our day on Brownsea and the papers are such lovely colours, very simple as I didn’t want to ruin the paper!  Used SU’s So Saffron for the matting and a few of their Rhinestones.

Wasn’t it a glorious day, got quite a bit of gardening done in the front garden which I haven’t touched in over a year, so was pleased to weed and cut back out there.

Have a lovely evening everyone…

Morning

This is my layout for The Colour Room challenge No 63.  I used Stampin’ Up’s Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron, Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake and some SU designer papers, used the Big Shot dies for the flowers and butterflies, Top Note die embossed with the Manhattan Flowers, grunge board letters  and some rhinestones and I actually crocheted a flower! I also inked in cherry cobbler with one of the  Vintage Vogue stamps.

The Colour Room is a great site if you want some help with your scrapbooking, gives you a weekly layout and colours for it.  I am a card maker first and am now enjoying more scrapbooking.

Hoping it doesn’t rain too badly for the first day at Wimbledon…
