Nursery Suite

Afternoon

It has been one of those weeks I don’t wish to have again after having to be admitted to hospital on Wednesday by my GP after suffering from atrial fibrulation! Racing heart and palpatations were quite scary, a very new thing for me and 26 hours in hospital… I am now on beta blockers and very tired, and exceptionally glad to be home!

With the Nursery Suite papers from Stampin’ Up from our last months club from Jo, I hadn’t done very much with it, but at least now I have two layouts under my belt with it, but both of them very simple.

My sister and I took her granddaughter to Brownsea Island for the day a few days before Helen went back to New Zealand. We took quite a few photos of her on the beach but she was fascinated with the large shells in the seaweed and didn’t realise that something was alive inside!  I like the colour combination of So Saffron and Regal Rose and the lovely shaped round papers in the kit.

Still heavy showers out there but will be nice when the lawn goes back to green again!  Take care everyone…  I am trying!!

Spring Blues

Good Morning

Another Layout in SU’s Elegant Soiree, which was our kit from Stampin’N Stuff Scrapbooking for April and have only just gotten round to using it.  Card making was my first love so I don’t do as many laoyouts as I would like…

All Stampin’ Up products were used for this layout with Crumb Cake for the base, a few punched flowers with pearls and I inked the title using the grunge board – simple again.  I have a lot of blue flowers in my garden at this time of year, in fact my garden has far more flowers in it in spring than any other time of the year and I love it…

Have a lovely day and take care…

Good Afternoon

We had a lovely scrap day yesterday with friends and my Sister Helen – just nice to kick back, and do one of our favourite things – talk!!  Only got a few layouts done in the end (or should I say as usual) but my friend Helen had one of Stampin’ Up’s new stamp sets from the mini catalogue French Foliage…  So I used the ‘splot’ stamp for the background with Baja Breeze onto Very Vanilla cardstock, mat the photos onto Baja cardstock along with the Elegant Soiree papers which I ripped and inked the edges of, then added a title surrounded by Itty Bitty punched flowers, another area stamped with the rest of the set with extra leaves in Crumb Cake and some more flowers with pearls.  I do love this colour combination and it was lovely for the Bluebell Woods photos I took a few weeks ago in that glorious sunshine…

Hope you are all having a great weekend, take care everyone…

Stampin’NStuff Challenge 3?

Afternoon

I don’t know if we are still doing the Challenges for our Scrapbooking Group but here is my effort for number 3 (still haven’t finished 2 yet!).

This is from the Stampin’ Up Nursery Suite Designer papers which are just lovely – with me not having girls I borrowed my firends daughter Charlotte to use the pink – she was in a grump as she was not getting her way, and it was way too warm in our glorious April weather and she was very hot in the sunshine, bless her… I love the little flower SU buttons too, a few flowers with the Boho punch and covered the title grunge board letters with matching paper and I covered them also in Crystal effects which I don’t think you can see from the photo; very bright for me which seems to be happening more and more lately!!

Take care as always…

A little bird told me…

Good afternoon

Don’t remember ever being so hot sat in my garden, certainly not in April and maybe not even in August!  I have a south facing garden which is wonderful but today had to get the big umbrella out for fear of sunburn, only found factor 15 in the house and having just come back in, look as pink as my t shirt…

So thought I would sit in my room and finish this layout – took the photos about a week ago now as the Acer started to come out in the back, heard the song of the Jenny Wren which I then caught sight of on a branch and snapped just before she flew off…  The colour choice is from The Colour Room which my sister has lead me to (she put a layout on last week that made their front page, she was so chuffed and deserved to be, twas a lovely LO Helen).

The colours were Jade green, yellow ochre, rich red and brown – I used retired SU card and papers for the base and mat, used the new SU flower die, Bird punch and for a change for me as I haven’t used it in months, a Cricut title from Just Cards.

We have been invited out to the Yacht Club tonight, Pimms on the patio, what fun!  So will take my camera for sunset shots and hope to have a lovely evening with dear friends having a drink and something to eat, can’t wait to feel that sea breeze!  Take care out there…

Morning

I am getting back into scrapbooking slowly but surely.  I have used Stampin’ Up products entirely for this project, mainly the In Colurs Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait.

These are Sunny Garden Designer Series Papers in conjunction with the in colour card.  The alphabet is not in the current catalogue and is Big Deal …

The Ribbon is in colour Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait 1/2in stitched poly ribbon, and I have used two SU punches, Boho Blossoms and the ever popular Bird punch together with Punch Potpourri stamp set, soft subtles brads to the flower centers.  I have also used (but don’t think you can see very well) at the bottom of the page Silhouette sentiments just to have some stamping on the card.

It’s warm out but no sun here this afternoon – hope this warmth stays, so much bettr for my hands… Take care everyone.

Afternoon

And the sun is out and it is no where near as cold – yipee!

With Jo’s first Stampin’ n Stuff Scrapbooking set I have made three layouts so far, and still have quite a bit of paper and card left to go.  I love this Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler colour combination with the Designer papers.

We had SU Hodgepodge Hardware with this kit (now reduced in the Catalogue to £20.76) and I used the Friendship stamp from the For Everything  kit in the top left hand corner of the page, used a few flowers from my stash, SU jewels were also in the kit and cardboard letters.  I put glossy accents on the ‘F’ after colouring it black just to make it pop, handcut a heart with I stamped with oneof the Bliss set and cut some Growing Green flowers.

With this layout (from one of Jo’s page maps) I used the jumbo wheel with So Swirly in Sahara Sand, punched out Boho Blossoms, I crimped the black and cream houndstooth check paper though you can’t see that in the photo then put the black and cream ribbon on top.  I have just started another layout so may get that photographed this weekend.

Happy scrapbooking!

Stampin’N Stuff Challenge No1

AFternoon

Well, I did get some scrapping done this afternoon.  My friend Jo Dumbleton at Stampin’ n Stuff  has started a Scrapbooking Club and has issued her first challenge to its members.  She made a Page Map and we had to do our version of it – it was a very good one (see her blog – my side bar) and I lifted it mostly as I loved the way she used the SU ribbon etc.

The kit this month used SU Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and Very Vanilla with the Love Letter papers, embellishing with SU Rhinestones and the Bliss Stamp set.

My Mum and I had taken Phoebe down to the river to feed the ducks – just swans and plenty of seagulls got a lot of bread.  When it was all done the ducks arrived!  I couldn’t get a title then Mike, my hubby, said ‘for ducks sake’ – I howled with laughter, thought I shouldn’t publish it with it being a bit naughty but thought what the heck! Sorry…

Hope you are having a good afternoon now the rain has stopped here…

Morning

Isn’t horrid out, rain lashing against the windows and so windy!  No excuses, I can craft all day!!  We were at one of our local crops yesterday, just so lovely to spend so much time with like minded women.  I actually got to do some more scrapbooking instead of card making so cropped another one of my Sis and me last year on our weekend away with 8 other dear friends.

This is using more of the Websters pages (from David at Craft Obsessions) cut the letters on my Cricut and the stamps are from one of my favourite sets from Stampin’ Up, Growing Green, which I have stamped, lightly colour washed and cut out – it matches the paper quite well I think!  I used Bashful Blue and  Certainly Celery SU colours.

Hope you are all getting something crafty done this weekend!  Take care everyone…

Afternoon

I don’t seem to have time to scrapbook anymore but took a few photos of Helen the weekend before she left for New Zealand while we were at Sandbanks beach.  I love this lphoto of her so thought I would at last do a layout.

Sorry about the photo but am having weird problems with my Adobe Photoshop at the moment. The cardstock is old bazzil from my stash,  some Stampin Up papers for the matting  and the scalloped edge is an SU punch and pearls;  the shaped Websters paper, ribbon and grunge alphabets from David at Craft Obsessions.  My friends will tell you I don’t use my Anna Griffin stuff but the cream roses are hers, they are layered but  don’t show very well, and the cream lace is from Wild Orchid crafts.

I have quite a few pages to finish off, especially the titles and journaling so may get a chance to do that this afternoon while hubby is watching the football.

Hope you are having a crafty weekend!  Take care everyone…
