52 in 10
Aug
Morning
Well, what a lovely crop we had yesterday and managed to get 3 of my Dolly’s 52 in 10 challenges done, yeah hey! It was great to see everyone after the July break, now we are quite busy for the next two months with crops, classes and events.
This is Prompt 29 – Dream Holiday, and yes I know I have missed posting a few. No papers for me this time, just card bazzils in red, white and blue of course. I have an American flag somewhere I must hunt out to finish it off and the title. Flags and bunting seem to be the in thing at the moment. But this is my dream holiday driving along the East Coast of America from the Florida Keys to the Canadian border. I have been lucky enough to visit the USA with my hubby Mike quite a few times, twice in Florida to the Disney Parks with the boys and three times to Maine to visit our very good friends over there in Boothbay Harbor, a magnificent part of the coast. We also managed a holiday then up to Niagara through Vermont etc and would dearly love to spend months travelling.
The Prompt 31 (not finished no 30 yet !) is ‘Oh my – what a view’ and this is a photo I took of Mike last autumn on one of our favourite walks through the bisses in Switzerland where we always stay. I have taken this photo in summer and winter and still love this autumn one the best. I used my new Martha Stewart punch for this with K & Co papers, lots of flowers and jewels and some new butterfly stickers I got from the Range the other day. The challenge was to use letter stickers that you have not used and these are a mixture from old stash.
Prompt 32 was a ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ with a challenge to use at least 6 photos! So having just gotten back from Siviez and taken loads of the meadow flowers on our walks, this is my Wild Side. Again using a Martha Stewart punch to add texture with gems, more butterflies (love the bling on them too) and stamped flowers from Stampin Ups Greenhouse Garden set and that was quite an easy layout, my first bit of scrapping in months after getting involved in a lot of cardmaking.
So I felt I achieved quite a bit yesterday and hope to finish Prompt 30 today before I look at the latest 33 on Karen’s blog!!…
Take care and have a lovely day…
52 in 10 – Prompt 23
Jun

Afternoon
I am behind doing the 52 in 10 but now am picking the ones I want to do, hopefully to go back to the ones I left out later. I know I don’t have to do them but I really would like to.
This I finished last night, no 23 prompt about favourite places in your home town. Mine has to be the beach, for walking on, sitting on and walking along side! Don’t much like going in the sea these days but just love the Hengistbury Head to Sandbanks stretch of beach we have here between our town towns of Bournemouth and Poole. I have lived in both, love them both, so tend to group them together.
I did this with my DCWV papers, what a great pack of summer papers this was, liked every one of them! with a few embellishments…

We had to use ribbon on this challenge which I threaded through hand cut holes (must get a ribbon punch!) and stitching, well I cheated and ‘hand stitched’ but liked the overall effect. Hopefully I can catch up at our Saturday crop.

52 in 10 – Prompt 20
May

Afternoon
Well, I was sat thinking what to do this afternoon – I have been feeling poorly since yesterday with a virus (headache, shivery, sore throat etc) so I made a page for the 52 in 20 from Karen, very simple is all I could manage then I got the spacing wrong for my title! So this was a prompt for your Ideal Job, mine would have been a Wildlife Photographer, and one of my favourite animals is the otter. The papers were from David at Craft Obsessions Bo Bunny (a gift of love) and if you pull the Handle with Care tab it will reveal the hidden journaling. As I say, very easy but wanted the photo to be the main item and with my headache, all I could do…
Take care…
52 in 18/19
May

Afternoon
Well thank you Karen as always for your great prompts. I have combined nos 18 and 19 to make a doubled page layout with No 17.
I have used the lovely Stampin Up papers again from Jo, love the psychedelic influence seeing as our school was founded in 1959 it is quite apt for the hippy era! The bottom strip is Happy Birthday for our 50 years is DCWV papers, Martha Stewart embossed punch, alphabet from old stock (am trying to use up all my old stuff). The flower is four layers with a jewelled brad from Hobby House with the butterfly (our school mascot) from Clarity Stamps – got it at the Ally Pally Show – which has angelina fibres in between, double layered and jewelled in the middle, swinging on a chain for the ‘Movement’ which Karen had asked for with the prompt.
I had fun doing this though my fingers cramped trying to put the links through the tiny chain! – it sucks having arthritis…
Take care
52 in 10 – prompt 17 It’s Just Work
Apr

Just a quickie (3 posts in one day!)
This is my effort for prompt 17 (I still have four to catch up on) and it is the start of four for the subject of work.
I work with a great bunch of people and awesome children for Langside School in Poole for children with severe learning disabilities. We are 50 years old this year and are fund raising for a badly needed new mini bus so if anyone sees this and wants to put their hands in their pockets, just let our school know! So many of the staff are walking 50 miles around Bournemouth and Poole to raise money over two days at Whitsun – if you see them give them a wave and some money!!
This is the gorgeous new Stampin Up paper, photo mounted on black core card to rip the edges as required in our challenge by Karen, SU butterfly punch and stamps (our school motif) and I made felt flowers, loved that, and put old stash ribbon on to finish it all off. Hope y0u like it - quite simple and to the point for me.
Take care…
Roses are red…
Apr

Well, I at last got to do some scrapbooking and it is of my great niece Phoebe. We all went to the park the other day and she had the most gorgeous Roses outfit on from Next. I just had to use one of my new Websters papers from Craft Obsessions along with the organza roses too, and also from David and Brenda the crystals to frame the photo. I also used rose bazzil which I stamped lightly with my new roller from SU with the Vintage reel, I edged the card and papers with dark crimson from Anna Griffin, mounted the photos on to coredinations card to rip and get the red underneath, used roses and crystal beads from Hobby Craft and stamped andmade a butterfly from my new Clarity stamp using the gold shimmer paper.
Hope you like it, take care…
NZ PHoto
Apr
This was a photo of Helen and I taken in a beautiful garden of our B & B in Kaiteriteri on our NZ trip.
I have been trying to get a bit more ‘girlie’ after having boys, itis nice to do pink pages!
This is the other half of the pink mat I used on the previous 52 in 10 (waste not want not!!) with one of my favourite Anna Griffin papers of all times – yes I actually used one! I used the pink stickles again dotted around the edges and made a circle cut out to sit by the photo which I then hand drew the crosshatches and put pink gems in the middle parts. The ribbon is from my old stash with some Prima and other flowers and roses I have picked up over the last few months. I also decoupaged a flower fairy in the top left corner from my new Crafters Companion set which is very sweet – very girlie!
Hope you like it…
52 in 10 – In My Home (Favourite Things)
Apr
This was a quick page for the In My Home prompt – I hae so many things that I love I have only chosen a few. I love my Disney characters collected over the years and I am a magpie, love shiny things, so I collect classware and perfume bottles too.
The stamp was an Anna Griffin border set I haven’t used in ages that I just dotted with pink Stickles after handcutting the pink mat. I love the gold and green ribbon and used rub ons for the title.
Bye for now,,,
52 in 10 – Our Home
Apr
Afternoon!
Well, I am still playing catch up with this project but have finished the one on our home today which had to have something ‘hidden’.
This is Crate Papers again, I do so love this colour combination. I hand cut the patterned paper and ruffled up the edges of the photo mount with my scissors just to give it a bit more definition and used flowers from my stash, some I know are Prima and I am running very low on these.
I spent most of the morning outside in the back garden with the lovely sunshine, cutting back the wisteria and generally tidying up. The photo of the hidden portion is of the back of the house in full spring bloom so may pop that photo in later.
Take care and thanks for looking…
52 in 10 – nos 10 and 11
Apr

I have been trying to catch up with the 52 in 10 projects after being away and have just finished 10 and 11.
The Special friend for no 10 is of my sister of course, my bestest friend, it is just simple with Crate Paper Papers and a photo of her taken on holiday in NZ. I have blurred the text on the layouts as they are personal and on the Faults and Flaws, well, quite embarrassing! The extra tasks were to use ribbon on the Special Friend and make your own embellishments on the Flaws one, so I did a bit of stamping using my Stampin Up sets and made some flowers from some Hot off the Press templates.
Karen always adds these little extras to challenge us which is nice. I look forward to Sundays to see what the next project is but I am two behind at the moment but with the Easter break from school I should easily be able to catch up, especially if the weather stays like this!
Bye for today!
