Been away…

Filed in General

Morning – Mike and I had a wonderful week away in Switzerland for the school holidays, something we both really needed.  We just relaxed in the gorgeous weather, so much sunshine up in the Alps even though it was cool some days; lots of long walks up the mountains and through the forests and picnics by the snow line. We just chilled out – just what the doctor actually ordered for me!!

So hope to be back soon with some projects as I feel much more inspired – still on Swiss time, up early…

Well, this is the photo of the wreath!  My hubby is a star and fixed yet another problem with this computer – boy am I a technophobe!  The photo colour isn’t great, must get that changed, something I can do! Bye for now…

Weekend away…

Filed in General

Just a quick post to say that we had a wonderful weekend away with the girls at Tincleton again – so many laughs, gut busting ones too! too much food and great company, the best way I know how to relax!

I would like to thank Jo, Ellen, Fleur, Brenda, Chris, Ali, Julie and Katherine (our newbies!) and Anna for coming out to spend a little time with us Saturday night, for being such good friends xx

I must admit I didn’t do too much at all but loved the wreath that some of us made using the new Stampin’ Up Christmas papers and the newsheet papers – they turned out so well and as Jo said, much quicker to do with a cold glue gun!

After a long time, can’t put a picture up.  My computer crashed last week and while away my hubby got most of it back up and running.  But I have lost my photoshop and don’t seem to be able to upload anything! Grrrrr…

Quarterly Training…

Filed in Cards

Morning

Just a quick photo this morning to show you some of the swaps I received at Jo Dumbleton’s quarterly training last Sunday.  We had a great day, soo many projects to do, three in the morning and one large project in the afternoon which was fab (using what is going to be a fave of mine, Everything Eleanor) and shown  now on Jo’s blog. We also had a great lunch and afternoon cakes! plus a Spin the Wheel and great raffle, and a Competition for the ladies to show their talents making a Christmas project or card that was judge by us all, won by Kath, yeah.

Jo has quite a few new Angels on her team and it was great to be with them and spend time doing something we all love, sharing knowledge and ideas for Stampin’ Up.  So this is a photo of the swaps the girls made – aren’t they fabulous!

Ok, bye for now as I have to get ready for our girlie weekend away card making and scrapbooking.  We did this last year at Tincleton and had such a fantastic time with our wonderful group of friends.  We had great weather too so we are keeping our fingers crossed for warm sun, lots of great food!! and great laughs!!!  Wish my sister Helen was there too xx but we will be thinking of you Helen out there in New Zealand…

Posy Punch

Filed in Cards

Morning

One of the new sets I ordered with pre order from Stampin’Up was Posy Punch which I think will prove quite versatile.  I like making small cards and this is perfect for it. I used Concord Crush for the background and stamped the flowers in the new colours Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limaeade, together with a few Delicate Doilies on two of the cards.  A few rhinestones, pearls and a white marker pen, eh voila…

Hope you like them, lots to do, take care out there…

Delicate Doilies

Filed in Cards

Morning

I must admit I am very taken with this set of stamps, very versatile for backgrounds which is always very useful when you don’t have the right papers. And the In Colours all coordinate with each other so beautifully too…

I cut out an oval onto acetate and then soft brushed and stamped through it to get the shape I wanted, stamping and cutting out the other doilies and used the lovely brads for the centres.  The colours are Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo.

Lots more to do today so will get a wiggle on, take care as always…

New SU Catalogue

Filed in Cards

Morning

What a glorious weekend we had, though I hardly saw outside.  I had a party here for my Mum’s 80th and should have gone to M & S for the food instead; I baked and cooked all Saturday and Sunday trying to keep everything cool in 28 degrees heat and, as usual for me, made far too much.  Everyone went home with goodie bags!

Anyway, back to crafting…  1st October means the new Stampin’ Up catalogue is out and there are five new colours to add to the collection, all really lovely colours, as well as new stamps, papers and so much more.

Apart from buying the new In Colours I got the Delicate Doilies set which I love.  I have repeat stamped using  Coral Calypso, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder for the bottom two and Lucky Limeade for the top one – that will be a firm favourite for me!

I loved the first set of In Colours last year so this will be no exception for me – I am sure you will see plenty more of this set over the next week or so before I get my first big order by the weekend!

Take care as always…

Sew Lovely Mini Album

Filed in Scrapbooking

Good Evening

And what a glorious day we have had, too hot in fact, but looks set for at least another four days – just wish I hadn’t to work!

Well, this is the mini 6×6 album we made at Jo’s Scrap Club last month.  We all did something a little different and this is the one I made for my Mum’s 80th Birthday with photos of her grand and great grandchildren – there is nothing my Mum likes more than photos!

Again they were done in all SU’s Bright colours, using emobssing, punches and stamping…

Just a few pages in this 6×6 album which my Mum really loved (opened it early knowing it was photos!!) and I really enjoyed making it, something different than just 12×12 pages – well done on that, Jo!

Ok, off to our local scrap club tonight – be careful out there, use sunscreen!

More Centre Step cards

Filed in Cards

Good afternoon

Well, here are a few more Centre Step cards I have made using the DSP Sweet Stitches which is retiring …

I used Daffodil Delight for both cards and the stamp set Sew Lovely, adding a few embosslits buttons, Chocolate Chip ribbon and some twine.  I promise I won’t keep on with these cards, but I have the 6×6 Album to show yet, probably tomorrow…

Oh, the sun is shining, I am going outside to do some gardening – take care…

Centre Step card

Filed in Cards

Morning

Looks like it is set for a very warm week here, unseasonably so – our trees have already turned and loosing their leaves, they will be budding again instead!

It took me a long time to order this set of DSP from Stampin’ Up but when I saw what other crafters were doing with them, I loved it.  We made a superb 6×6 album with them at Jo Dumbleton’s last Scrap Club and I have filled it with photos of the grandchildren for my Mum’s 80th birthday this week – hope you like it Mum and made a few more cards with the papers left over from the stash.

Even though the papers are going from the new catalogue, the stamps aren’t. I do like playing about with card templates and like this centre step design.  I used Pacific Point – again one of the colours I haven’t used very much as I am more a Subtles and Neutrals girl and this is in the Brights section – if you have off cuts of paper too you can get rid of them easily with this design…

Ok, more to finish to take care everyone…
